WHAT TO EXPECT
We would love to have you join us for church at West Haven. We want to make it easy for you to get to West Haven and enjoyable when you arrive! If the following information doesn’t answer your questions, please contact us at email@example.com and we will get you the information you desire! Thanks for checking our website!
Q. When are your services?
A. On Sundays, we have Sunday School classes for children and students as well as Adult Bible Fellowship, Student and Children's Sunday School classes at 9:15 a.m. Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.
Q. Where are you located? Our street and GPS address is 1000 West Street, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
Q. What should I wear?
A. We are more concerned with you personally than what you wear. Most of our members dress casually. Either way, YOU WILL FIT IN!
Q. Where do I park?
A. West Haven has a spacious parking lot in the front of the church. There are specifically designated handicapped parking spaces near the front door. There are also spaces for first time guests.
Q. Where do I enter the building for worship?
A. When you pull in the parking lot, you will see two entryways that face the east. You can enter the northernmost entryway (the one on your right) to easily access the worship center.
Q. What do I do when I enter the church?
A. There will be greeters at the front door to help you and your children find where you need to go. In the off chance that a greeter is not available, ask any one of our friendly people. They will be glad to help. Restrooms are just off to your left as you enter the building.
Q. What is your nursery like?
A. The nursery is an important ministry here at West Haven. You can access the nursery in our lower level. You can take the first stairway to the left or go down the first hallway to your left to an elevator. You will see the nursery from there. It is divided into four rooms. We have a room for babies up to one year old with an adjoining sleeping room. We also have a "Walkers Room" for 1-3 year olds and a "Preschool Room" for 3 & 4 year olds.
We offer childcare during Sunday school and our worship service. Each child is checked in at our nursery station. We also have a monitor outside the check in desk where parents can view their child and the classroom. We complete criminal background checks on all who serve in the nursery. We are in the process of installing motion sensitive cameras in all children’s classrooms with the video being recorded to a hard drive. We take your child's safety seriously.
Q. Do you have a worship service for young children?
A. Children’s Church is our worship service for kids in Kindergarten through second grade during the worship service. Our mission is to share the truth of God’s Word in an effective way that helps kids grow a personal relationship with Jesus through Bible lessons, crafts and games.
Parents of children’s church attendees can access Children’s Church in our lower level. You will be are asked to check in your children. If you would like your children to start the worship service with you, we also have a dismissal time for children about 10 minutes in to the service. After church is dismissed, parents go the Children's Church to pick up their children.
Q. What should I expect in worship?
A. We pray, sing and preach the Word of God. It is our desire to simply and sincerely glorify Him in all that we do. You can hear sermons at our "Resources" section of this website. You can view our bulletins, also on our "Resources" section.
Q. What is available for my young children?
A. On Sunday morning, we have age-graded Sunday School classes. On Wednesday nights during the school year, we have the very popular AWANA program. Can you learn more about AWANA at our "Kids/Youth" section of this website.
Q. What is available for my junior high and high school children?
A. We have a very active student ministry. We are led by Bill Weatherford and Nathan LaFave, our Student Ministry Director. We have 15-20 adults to provide sound leadership for students.
